SAINTS: The Musical - UPDATED AUDITION INFO!

Audition Notice

Payton Productions will hold auditions for Saints, the Musical on March 28, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and March 29, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at St. Raphael Academy in Pawtucket, RI.  

This rollicking new musical, written by Kaleidoscope Theatre’s David Payton, is based on Don Payton’s book, Friends Are Thicker Than Water.  Don’s book covers the year 1955 at Saint Raphael Academy, when he was class vice-president and captain of the football team.  Saints is a hilarious and nostalgic account of the many misadventures of two best friends. 

• Saints will be presented as a reader’s theatre workshop, with staged musical numbers    
• Needed are 12 male actors and 6 female actors, aged 16 to 60  
• Those auditioning should prepare a one minute comic monologue and 16 bars each of an upbeat song and a ballad.  Bring a resume and photo, if available  
• Bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided  
• A short dance combination will be taught

Saints will be directed by Sandy Cerel and Anne Colannino, with musical direction by Lila Kane, and choreography by Bill Evans. 

 Rehearsals will begin May 1, 2015. Production dates are June 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, and 28.  Please call 401-942-3637 to schedule an audition appointment.

SAINTS: The Musical UPDATE

Sandy and Anne (the co-Directors of SAINTS: The Musical) will be on TV this week talking about the upcoming auditions and the show! 

Check them out on AN HOUR WITH BOB - Thurs. @ 11PM, Fri. @ 10 PM, Sat.@ 1PM on Cox 13 Verizon 32 and full channel 49. Also, Sat. @ 11PM & Mon. @ 10:30PM on Cox 18 and Verizon 24,25,31. Wed. @ 6PM Fall River Ch 95.

In other news, the auditions for this show have been officially rescheduled to March 28th from 2-5pm and March 29th from 4-6pm. Please call (401) 942-3637 to make an appointment!

The Making of a Musical

David has created a blog all about the process of making SAINTS: The Musical. 

SAINTS: The Musical is based on the book "Friends Are Thicker Than Water" by his brother Don Payton. The blog will journey the progress as the musical is taken through all the stages of production. Check back frequently for new posts!!

Our first Christmas show of the season!

Goldilocks' Christmas
Thursday, December 4th at 10:00am
Scottish Rite Auditorium, 2115 Broad St. Cranston, RI
Come with us on a delightful romp through the traditional tale of Goldilocks, as she drops in on the three bears just in time for Christmas! Enjoy this festive twist of a classic children's theatre favorite, which teaches some lessons about proper manners in a fresh and fun way. This is a show you just can't 'bear' to miss!

Visit us at the Santa Parade!

 
Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Pocahontas will be on hand to greet Santa when he arrives at the Roger Williams Park Zoo on Saturday, November 29th at 9:00am!

After his arrival, Santa, our princesses and some other friends will march in a welcome parade throughout the Zoo before stopping to greet people and pose for pictures.
